Position Statement on Child-Welfare Services
It
is our position that child welfare authorities are necessary to protect
children who are being abused or seriously neglected and that these
authorities require strong, proactive, responsive, transparent, and
accountable oversight mechanisms to ensure that the best interests of
the child are being met.

RACAS (Ride for Accountability of Children's Aid Societies) is a bicycle ride between the cities of Windsor and Ottawa which has as its goal raising awareness of the need for improved external oversight of Children's Aid Societies by the province's Office of the Ombudsman and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
